Final Blue

Final Blue

If you want to know about this read the last couple post on the blog here. All I’ll say here is that the image is 2560×1440 and was made with GIMP.

“If you understand, things are just as they are; if you do not understand, things are just as they are.” – Zen Saying

I think it speaks to a change of mindset. When you don’t understand you feel helpless to the terrible things that happen, but when you do understand you accept that you can’t change things so you just stay positive. Obviously knowing this is only a tiny part of the problem, the real trouble comes when you try to apply this. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never managed to use logic to stay cool.

So, if you’re actually following this blog, this is the color in mentioned in the last post. I liked it with this quote so I’m posting it. In a minute I’ll post this quote attached to that last wallpaper. Yes, I did in fact turn one project into three. And yes, I am that fucking lazy.

So I recently saw an inforgraphic titled “10 Colors that Faded Away,” so I used one of the colors and made this by simply subtracting from the pre-existing swirl thing; it was originally a ugly green and red. I thought it looked good so I’m posting it here.

Silhouette Mountain #2

Silhouette Mountain #2

A few months ago I made a picture I titled Silhouette Mountain, this picture uses the same mountain and tree photo, but adds a different pattern to the background and uses light differently. I wasn’t on planning on making something so similar to what I had already made, but I was bored and messing around and out popped this. It looked pretty good, so here it is. Image was made with GIMP 2.8 and is 2560×1440.

Mary Shelley – Invention

Mary Shelley - Invention

So I made this picture then I went on a search for a quote that fit it. This one kinda does, but I like it enough to not care that it doesn’t fit perfectly. It’s from the introduction of Frankenstein, if the internet is to be trusted. I guess it looks alright. Either way, I made this with GIMP and the image is 2560×1440

Dirty Mirror

Dirty Mirror

I don’t really know what to call this, or what it is, but I kind of like it so I’m posting it. I’m sure no one will see it, but I kind of like it.

Why We’re Doomed (If You’re Concerned About Surveillance)

People believe government surveillance is inherently worse than giving all of your information to corporations. The argument is simple enough, the government can arrest you based on their surveillance and corporations can’t. I’m not saying it never happens, but it doesn’t exactly seem commonplace for the government to arrest you based on surveillance. Assuming we get to the point where the government is arresting people for nothing; Nazi-esque if you will. Don’t you think the government would just commandeer the information we’ve all given to the private corporations? They don’t need to spy on us, the corporations will sell us out as the government becomes more and more intertwined with private enterprise. Leaving us with no privacy; And no money. I’m not saying privacy isn’t important or that the government should be spying on us, what I am saying is that it doesn’t matter. If you’re concerned about authoritarianism then you should probably be working on keeping money and media from driving our political decisions. With regular, semi-effective elections we be can sure we haven’t slid entirely into fascism or communism or whatever your preferred evil force is.
