Lost in Wonderland

I made this picture in GIMP, I think it’s pretty good as reflection of how fucking cold it’s been and my numb depression. Or maybe not, I don’t know. This picture basically emerged from me opening GIMP to figure out where a setting was to answer someone’s question on Reddit. Then it sort of flowed for a couple days until I got to this.

The Circus Never Leaves

This is a quote from Anne Lamott. I like the quote, but I feel like the picture isn’t quite complete. This is one that was going one direction, but radically shifted and ended up as something I’m not completely happy with.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night

I liked how this piece of the poem fit the picture I had put together.

I found this poem recently, The Old Astronomer to His Pupil by Sarah Williams. I really liked the last two lines and they fit so perfectly, I felt, with the picture I had just finished working on that I combined them into something that I hope looks nice. Just a note, I know the text is a bit hard to read on a browser, but if you actually look at the image at something close to full size it’s perfectly readable. I’m putting the quote at the bottom for those of you who are too lazy. I put this picture together with GIMP it started off in a whole different direction, but eventually came to this.

“Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.”
– Sarah Williams

The only working alternative is wild bursts of madness

Just a Hunter Thompson quote that I liked, so I put this thing together.d

Jean-Paul Sartre – Dreamers

“Like all dreamers, I mistook disenchantment for truth” – Jean-Paul Sartre

Fuck Love

Fuck Love

All I did for this picture is take the girl from a smaller photo and put it onto a wallpaper sized background – oh and maybe added a tiny bit to it. Image is 2560×1440 and all of my work was done in GIMP.
